How can I protect my computer from viruses and spyware?
  1. If you are using Windows XP SP2, verify that your Firewall protection and automatic Microsoft Criticial Updates are enabled on your computer.
  2. Install virus protection software(e.g. McAfee VirusScan®) and schedule it to automatically update daily. Virus protection keeps viruses, worms & Trojans from infecting your computer.
  3. AntiSpyware catches & removes dangerous spyware, visit Security Matters to obtain addition information on spyware and antispyware software downloads.

How do I enable Windows XP SP2 popup protection?
  1. Click on Start - Control Panel - Security Center
  2. .
  3. Click on Internet Properties
  4. .
  5. Click on the Privacy tab
  6. .
  7. Click in the box by Block pop-ups a green checkmark will display.
  8. Click on Apply and OK.

Your pop-up blocker is now enabled.


How do I automatically receive Microsoft's criticial updates?
  1. Click on Start - Control Panel - Security Center

  3. Click on Automatic Updates
  4. .
  5. Click on Automatic (recommended)
  6. .
  7. Ran the updates everyday at a time when your computer is turned on.

How do I lock my computer?

Locking your computer whenever it is left unattended helps to prevent unauthorized access.

  2. In the windows Security dialog box, click on Lock Computer

  4. To unlock your computer, Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard and type in your password.
