Computing Services Network - About CSN
The University of Nebraska Computing Services Network, the information technology services division
of the University of Nebraska Central Administration, is the primary administrative computing services and
intercampus data communications provider for the University of Nebraska. UNCSN provides
administrators, staff, faculty, and students throughout the University of Nebraska with efficient and cost-effective information systems.
These systems and functions provide the basis for University-wide decision-making, reporting
and planning processes in support of the University of Nebraska's mission of education, research, and public service.
CSN's primary initiatives are to:
1. Implement, develop and maintain information systems to support University-wide administrative needs
2. Develop, implement and support a network architecture to support the initiatives of the University and the State
3. Promote, develop and implement an information systems risk management program, including security, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance
4. Promote strategic organizations by developing and supporting operational and strategic planning tools and processes
5. Collaborate with campuses to develop a system wide information technology architecture plan and strategy
6. Facilitate and enhance constituents’ use of information systems
7. Develop the IT organization within UNCA and across the University
8. Develop and maintain partnerships
9. Supplement academic information technology
